Rupert Hanbury

After his degree in biochemistry, Rupert graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1988. He joined the Ashcroft Practice in 1996 and uses the "classical" osteopathic approach involving comprehensive analysis of problems such as pain and stiffness. Cranial osteopathy techniques also form an essential part of his treatment: the best combination of technique is chosen for the particular patient.

Rupert's holistic approach often includes advice about work strain, exercise and exercises, and he maintains good links with local doctors and other specialists. Rupert has a special interest in rehabilitation after injury and coordinating treatment for longer term problems.

Theresa Devereux

Theresa is an experienced Registered Osteopath who has practised for many years in a variety of settings. After qualifying from The British School of Osteopathy in 1986 she ran her own Complementary Health Clinic for many years and also set up a ski clinic in the French Alps.
Theresa is a general Osteopath who treats a wide range of conditions. She has an interest in skiing and horse riding injuries. A lot of time spent in the saddle or on skiis can create stiffness and aches and pains in certain muscles and joints. Osteopathy can be particularly effective in loosening the muscles and unlocking the joints which can relieve symptoms and even lead to improved posture and style.
Theresa also specialises in stress-related aches and pains, occupationally-related conditions, osteoarthritis and lymph drainage.
She works using a combination of classical manipulative and massage techniques along with cranial osteopathy. She believes in an integrated approach to healthcare and would describe her approach as gentle and releasing.

He has taught to degree and masters levels on Sport Rehabilitation and Public Health higher education courses at St Mary’s College, University of Surrey.

John’s approach is holistic and broad ranging, drawing from the varied background and experience gained over 20 years of Osteopathic practice and related health promotion work. Both cranial and structural approaches may be incorporated into treatment together with an exploration of the potential for health improvement, contributing to the aim of not just resolving presenting symptoms but promoting improved physical function and good health.
