Maternity Reflexology

In Maternity Reflexology the practitioner uses more relaxing techniques to calm mother and baby and gives direct attention to the aches and pains commonly associated with pregnancy. A treatment may include an energetic balancing of the reflexology endocrine zones for the overall mental and physical well-being of both baby and mother

During pregnancy Reflexology may be effective for:

· Oedema
· Symphisis Pubis Dysfunction
· Back Pain and joint pain
· High Blood Pressure
· Stress and Anxiety
· Headaches
· Nausea and heartburn

Regular reflexology treatments during pregnancy may shorten labour time and feel wonderful for the new mother or mother-to-be, while providing a healing sense of touch. Ideally weekly or fortnightly sessions are recommended, or at least 6 sessions throughout the pregnancy

In pregnancy Thai Yoga Massage can help:

· Aches in the lower back, hips, legs, neck and shoulders
· Sciatica
· Cramps in calf muscles
· Sinus congestion and headaches
· High blood pressure
· Swelling in hands and ankles
· Aching feet

Thai Yoga Massage can be easily and safely adapted for treatments throughout pregnancy. In late pregnancy the entire massage can be carried out comfortably with the mother-to-be in side-lying position. Beanbags or cushions are used to support the client for working the energy lines of the back and for a wonderfully relaxing face massage.
